Celebrity Following: Lauren C. Mayhew
Access Hollywood correspondent and actress, Lauren Mayhew has been spotted recently at some major Hollywood events sporting Maison’s 2011 Fall/Winter collection.
Best known for her work in Guiding Light and CSI, it seems this fashionable lady loves Maison as much as we do. Lauren has become a loyal fan of the Collection and we have to say that it suits her perfectly!
Lauren does a beautiful job of letting Maison’s bold prints for FW11 the season shine while showing off her figure by pairing them with simple, chic accessories.
See her wearing Maison’s Phoenix dress in the clip below at the 3:43 mark! Along with photos from Noon by Noor and American Vintage launch events.
Maison Presents: Real Girls, Real Style
This Spring, we’re inspired by the looks of a few cute girls who have been spotted wearing some pieces by Maison.
On the left, Casey adds a feminine flare to her Ash Blazer by pairing it with a light, pastel dress and white canvas shoes. The mix of the flowing dress with the bold blazer makes this a perfect stand-out look for Spring.
On the right, Jennifer completes the look of her Chevron Dress by adding some unique accessories such as a striped denim vest, and a pair of oxford heels. Looking great by day, Jennifer also loves how easily she can wear the Chevron Dress at night, simply by adding some bold necklaces, and a pair of classic black pumps.
How To Wear It
We’re always busy in the Maison studio but that doesn’t stop us from having fun. Since everyone here loves this seasons Flow top, we thought that we would show you some different ways we wore it!
1. Untucked. The style and flow of the top allows itself to stand alone in any outfit but paired with a cute pair of jeans, heels and bag, the Flow top will take your outfit to another level of casual, comfy and cool.
2. Tucked. The Flow top tucked into a high-waisted skirt will make the top become a whole different shirt. An outfit made for a day at work, business meeting or just a walk around the neighbourhood that will keep you looking sharp and chic.
3. Tied. Lastly but not least, the Flow top tied takes on yet another style. Paired with high-waisted shorts, you have the flow of the untucked while having the silhouette of the tucked.
Celebrity Style – Barcelona Skirt
With summer just around the corner and flowers starting to bloom, Maison isn’t the only one with florals in mind for those sunny days. Vanessa Hudgens has perfected this spring trend with this beauty of a skirt and we can’t help but notice the similarities to Maison’s Barcelona skirt.
Stars turn out at the Met Ball 2011 in some inspiring spring styles!
Last nights Met Ball saw fashion heavyweights, and Hollywood’s biggest stars all out to honor the late Alexander McQueen. The Ball is fashion’s biggest night, with everyone from Anna Wintour to Karl Lagerfeld attending in their most inspired dress. A-Listers like Blake Lively, Gwyneth Paltrow and Madonna were all there last night wearing the latest couture designs. Eye-popping color, elegant draping and Grecian styling were everywhere on the red carpet, paying homage to McQueen’s playful sensibilities. With Maison you can translate the stars avant-garde looks to real-life, so you can shine like your favorite celeb this spring.

Spring Trends 2011
The spring season is in full swing and here at Maison Clothing, we’ve got you covered with this season’s top trends. Whether it’s key looks or specific clothing trends, we have everything you need to keep you looking fresh and fabulous for Spring/Summer 2011.
1. BOLD COLOUR
If you’re the type of person that prefers to stand-out rather than blend in, bold colour is the trend for you. Whether it’s achieved through print or bold colour combinations, wearing colour is a great way to lift your mood and your wardrobe.
2. STRIPES
Stripes are hands down the pattern of choice for the Spring/Summer season! Although some would say stripes are unflattering, now more than ever, they are featured in a multitude of sizes and colours and can be worn vertically, horizontally or asymmetrically to open up the possibilities of how to wear them and how to make it work to be flattering.
3. WHITE ON WHITE
Minimalism ruled the runways in 2010 and still holds the title as one of the top trends for 2011. Only difference, pure whites! It’s a blank canvas for you to add a pop of colour with your favourite shoes and accessories. While this trend is sure to remain a classic it is important to know how to mix textures and use silhouette and shape to make a minimal look unique and stylish.
4. 70s/BOHO
Nothing in fashion is ever new, there is a constant cycle of repeating trends or popular aesthetics. The 70s was no doubt an impactful time for fashion, so it’s no surprise designers were inspired by the styles of that decade yet again. Ever since the 70s look arrived on Spring/Summer 2011 runways, fashion lovers everywhere have not been able to ignore the ever-growing trend. Platform sandals, maxi dresses and jumpsuits are a few of the many ways to capture the 70’s style.
5. ROMANCE
With the warm weather right around the corner, the runways are being flooded with a new charming and feminine look. Detailed embroidery, ruffles, lace, and floral prints are all features of this fresh summery trend. Embrace your inner romantics and let the flowing soft style inspire you this season.

On the left is the image of the Swan dress from our SS11 catalogue in cobalt. This dress will be available in stores March 2011!
Maison In Dallas
It’s been quite a whirlwind in the studio the past few weeks! The SS11 collection has been showing at various showrooms in Canada and internationally. And most recently, Maison had a chance to present its looks at the Moxie Fashions Showroom in Dallas, which was a very exciting endeavor! There were some fabulous looks to walk the runways, and the Bronze Dress was one of those looks featured. Maison had a great time and loved the Deep South, and would like to thank Dallas again for their hospitality!
Fashion Week-Juma SS11
The beginning of Fashion Week only means one thing: lots of shows and gorgeous clothes! One of the highlights for us was definitely the Juma SS11 presentation; the talented brother/sister duo put together a show full of African inspired prints and patterns that was an absolute treat for our eyes to behold. Printed silk dresses, leggings, shorts and high waisted trousers were among some of the standout pieces. Bright prints seemed to be the dominant theme of the show, with an array of scarves hanging from the ceiling of a beautiful intimate loft in the Spoke Club.
Visuals aside, the private show filled with friends of the designers, press and fashionistas also did not disappoint. Music filled the room all night as photographers were snapping up shots of beautiful models who were more than glad to strike a pose. And what would a party be without drinks and the company of good people? We took advantage of the night and chatted up with as many people as we could. And were lucky enough to bump into Fashion Television’s Mary Kitchen among others! We were able to snap up some pics ourselves of the show. Take a look and let us know what you think of the pieces! Also if you’ve had a chance to see any shows this week, we’d love to hear.

Introduction – Up Close and Personal with Wendy Wong
What type of music do you listen to while you work?
I like to start my mornings off slow, with something more jazzy, and speed up the pace as the day goes. I definitely need something higher energy for that 3-4pm tired time. That’s when I blast Yelle or Lady Gaga
What are you reading right now?
Wind Up Bird Chronicle by Haruki Marakama
Favorite recently viewed movie?
Vicky Christina Barcelona
What can’t you live without?
My Kiehl’s tinted lip moisturizer and hand salve
If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?
My impatience! Hurry up!
What freaks you out?
Really fake people
Guilty pleasure?
Kraft dinner! It’s disgusting I know!
Sweet or Savoury?
Definitely savoury – I would live on French fries and chips if they were calorie free!
Favourite Past time?
I’m a spa junkie! A day at the spa with my girlfriends, sitting around in a plush bathrobe, getting a great deep tissue massage and spa pedicure – the perfect day!
When are you happiest?
Travelling! My job allows me to travel the world and I’m always finding inspiration everywhere! It’s thrilling to see what people are wearing on the other side of the world, the colors, fabrics, textures, architecture, retail shops etc. I love experiencing new cultures, foods, languages and meeting new people.
Did you go away on vacation? If so where? Highlight from the trip?
After my work part in Hong Kong, I flew to Phuket, Thailand and Bali, Indonesia. Both were so beautiful, tropical and inspiring, I couldn’t stop thinking resort collections!
What do you want to personally accomplish in 2010?
This is the year of learning for me – I want to learn mandarin and become an Illustrator expert!
Fashion mistake you will never live down?
My one and only perm. I was so obsessed with trying to give my stick straight hair some body, that I gave my chin length hair a perm. And not a wavy one, a tight curly one that ended up as a small afro. Paired with my lavender rimmed glasses and shoulder pads (it was the 80’s!), it was truly a low point in my fashion career.
How has your style changed over the past 10 years?
I’ve always loved colour and pattern but as I’ve gotten older it’s gone from crazy vintage mix and match to a little more subtle (like 1 print at a time as opposed to a few!)
Favourite piece from the SS10 collection?
The Ogle dress, the cut is so feminine and flattering on everyone – and I love that silk print!
Who is your style icon?
Carrie Bradshaw – ok so she’s a fictional character but she had great style – sure there were some disasters but it was fun, quirky yet stylish and she wasn’t afraid to take risks!
Business Goals for 2010?
Expansion into Asia.
